Welcome to Cambridge's new Community Radio Station
If you would like to support us, but do not want to get involved, you can make a donation, either by sending a cheque, or via paypal, and become a member of our Friends Association:
Well, we are YOU- the Cambridge Community!. We are a community radio station, which means we operate on a not-for-profit basis and we are run, in the main, by volunteers. We are here to provide you with the training and facilities you need to make the radio programmes you want to hear.
Broadcasting over the internet from Cambridge venues and studios since March 2003, 209radio has a range of specialist music programs with community and arts programmes being added all the time.
We want to focus on Cambridge life from your angle.
The beautiful thing about it? If you do not hear what you like on the station then you can do something about it directly. You can join us and make that program. You can tell us about the issues that you face. You can have your say.
We launched a 5 year FM service to Cambridge City on the 1st of October 2007 on 105 FM and we are still growing.
This project needs the people of Cambridge to succeed. You can join our Friend's Association by making a charitable donation. We need people to volunteer time to help in the station itself, working with audio and broadcasts but also with the running of everything that goes with it.
Come to our events (details of which are posted on the website) and show your support. Become a member and enjoy the benefits!
We are different from other stations in many ways...we have a 4 week schedule...we support radio and sound art...we have programmes in languages other than English...we do not run any kind of on-air adverts...we are here to make a difference!
