I first met Karl in early 2003 shortly after he'd started the station. He was putting fliers in a now defunct record shop on King's St, I picked one up and so began my relationship with 209radio.
After providing a few guest mixes my show started in September 2004. At first it was called “Manufacturing Consent” only to change to its present name around a year later. It's been a constantly evolving process and a wonderful journey which has given me the chance to put my huge record collection to work. If I had to describe the musical genre I specialize in I could only come up with something as general as “modern electronic dance music.” The terms “house” and “techno” are both restrictive and largely redundant. Having the show has also opened the occasional door.
I started a blog to accompany it in April '06 which can be found at machinesarefunky.blogspot.com. It acts as a commentary on the state of underground electronic music and clubbing in Cambridge, as well as iving me the chance to air my opinions on the wider world of DJ culture and all that goes with it.
I also review for a number of different web sites. At the moment I'm looking forward very much to the station going onto FM and to my show continuing to evolve by incorporating more interviews and more guest DJs..

Tonight's show will be the last. So, expect some classics from the last twenty years. Lots of wonderful Chicago and Detroit classics amongst others. I can't make my mind up what to play so tune in and find out.
